How to take hoof pictures for distant diagnostic

Now that nearly every one has a digital camera, it is possible to get advice from an experienced barefoot trimmer without them having to come and see your horse at all. In most cases, a set of good pictures will do just as well.
If you are doing one of the "natural hoof care for horse owners" course, I strongly advise you to take pictures of your horses hooves with you. We will look at them together, and decide on a hoof care strategy for your horse.
These are the picture you will need:

barefoot hoof, front view
a face on photograph with the hoof on the ground.

barefoot hoof, side view
a side photograph with the hoof on the ground.

solar view
a solar view like these ones

barefoot hoof, solar view
a picture of the hoof from behind with the hoof lifted

basck view barefoot hoof
and if possible, a rear view picture with the hoof on the ground (heel view).

Pictures should be taken at the best resolution possible, the more detailed the better!
